[vc_row][vc_column width=”1/1″][text_output]And how amazing are the clothes? Since I first visited a couple of weeks ago, I have done nothing but wax lyrical to my local friends about this amazing boutique. Alas, we have nothing similar in Sevenoaks (we so so should!) although maybe I should be grateful as I would be in there every week “just seeing what’s in there”.
Because there really is something for any occasion. At the moment especially when the weather is just – well, not cricket, is it? It’s not exactly Spring…it’s cold…it’s really really quite chilly.
Therefore full on Summer gear just isn’t the ticket yet. We need those pieces in our wardrobe that we can add in to make them just that little bit more interesting. As we’re all pretty much O.V.E.R our Winter clothes that we’ve been wearing since what seems like forever. And retrieve your Spring clothes from last year (when it was considerably warmer I’d like to point out) and they never seem quite as appealing as they were.
It’s the ideal time therefore to treat yourself to something new. Something that can make all the difference to your wardrobe. Or even a whole outfit that you can mix and match with things you already have, that is perfect for this not so mild weather but will still work when the sun comes out.

Would work as well for holiday, as for work, as for a night out. Beautiful loose shape with exquisite detailing down the sides. And teamed with the most flattering high waisted skinnies I have every tried on – the MiH Body Con skinnies. No these aren’t cheap but cost per wear, these will owe you nothing in a very short space of time. The most fabulous bum hugging, leg lengthening, muffing hiding trousers of wonder. And what’s not to love about a throw on cardigan – the American Vintage Vacville cardi. Perfect for travelling, for layering in the Winter or for keeping your shoulders warm on those cool Summer evenings. For me – my lazy side is most keen to have it wrapped round me on the sofa.

Must mention the shoes which are the perfect heel height for both every day wearing and dancing into the small hours. Super comfortable and if you’re not that much in love with your feet (if you looked at mine you would think I was one gene away from Hobbit), the fringing on these does wonders to hide what you don’t really want to be looking at. And bang on trend too. Perfection in sandals all round – the Sol Sana Tobi heel.

Next, it would have been rude not to try the navy jumpsuit – American Vintage Derinaroad jumpsuit. Which happens to be the one colour jumpsuit I don’t in fact own… This is ideal for both now and into Summer evenings. Layer with a thin knit polo neck underneath to take you into Autumn. Looks great with either a biker jacket or blazer thrown over for play or even work.

Or treat yourself to new ones… these Ivylee Dee Boots with gold studs are absolutely sublime.

It’s not often you try on a pair of trews that are perfect for so many different occasions. The colour, the cut, the fit, the detailing. I completely fell in love with (and bought!) the Current/Elliott Industrial Trouser.

These are the one pair of trousers that will see you through all Spring/Summer and well into the Autumn as well. They are the perfect modern twist on a classic cargo. Can be rolled up for a more traditional look or worn long, with the slight, very current, mini kick flare to them. With flats, with sneakers, with ankle boots, with sandals of the heeled, flat or wedge variety – they really are the pants of the season.

For a more casual look, the most perfect tee to add to your wardrobe to work as a layer or as a top in its own right, is the American Vintage Sonoma Top. – a great linen style classic white long sleeved tee. Every wardrobe should have one (in white, in navy, in black, in every colour actually). And for dress down chic, there can be nothing more luxurious than a chunky knit in a fresh Spring shade – Essential Lunny Long Sleeve Sweater. Made all the more special if you look closely and see the gold thread detail running through.

The perfect sliders finish off the outfit but I would also absolutely wear this outfit with the Ivylee Dee Boots (I may have to make a phone call to order these seeing as I’m not sure how I’m going to live without them.. they look amazing with these trousers). These sandals though, into the Summer will be your go to staple. Buy them now before they sell out. They’re ideal in that they’re not flat flat, they’re not super smart but they’re not super casual. They really would go with every outfit. The official Goldilocks of sandals. And most importantly, boy are they comfy – Ivylee Iris Slider.

Hopefully there are some ideas there for how to dress in this tricky transitional phase (aka the British Spring.. and Summer for that matter) until we can legitimately crack out the dresses and sandals without fear of getting frost bite. My advice would be to invest in a couple of key pieces, as above, to make you fall back in love with some of your old favourites that may have lost their shine. Or just go the whole hog and buy an outfit that you can reinvent in many different ways. Personally I’m with the latter suggestion. If the sun isn’t shining, this is guaranteed to brighten your days instead!
