Luxurious and everyday sneakers for women. Meet Rose Rankin…

[vc_row][vc_column width=”1/1″][text_output]At Quattro Rish we are utterly passionate about sneakers, styling them frequently with our work wardrobe through to the weekend.  Always on the lookout for homegrown labels it was love at first sight when we came across the fun and bold designs of Rose Rankin – not only are they incredibly flattering on both the foot and ankle – they’re very feminine, super comfortable, beautifully crafted and on top of that stylish and cool!

Having been trainer obsessed from a young age Rose Rankin, who has previously worked in film, marketing and sales before retraining in footwear design at Central Saint Martins, spotted a niche in the market for a more luxurious type of trainer | sneaker that can be worn with tailored outfits and casual weekend denim.

This is our first full season with Rose Rankin and so far each style of sneaker that we stock have proven to be very popular.   We wanted to share with you more behind the brand that is Rose Rankin and ask Rose herself, the namesake and founder of this cool sneakers label, a few questions…[/text_output][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/2″][image src=”3645″][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/2″][image src=”3646″][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/1″][text_output]What’s your fave style this SS16?

I am a big fan of Dots this season so probably the White Dot Coney and the Cheetah Simmy Mid Top.

What inspires you / where do you get your ideas from?

I find inspiration in everyday life – patterns from interiors, colour combinations I see in art, on people, in magazines etc. I also find patterns and colours in nature, for instance, the big dot pattern that features in the SS16 collection comes from patterns on London Plane Trees near where I live. In terms of designs and shape I like to combine retro with new so I look for inspiration in vintage stores and platforms and I combine these influences with how I feel my customer wants to look today. I keep snippets of inspiration as I go and that eventually becomes a moodboard for the next season.

Which clothing brands do you personally wear?

I have a casual style and wear brands like Frame Denim, MM6, MiH, Sideline, NLST, Rachel Allegra, Des Petit Hauts mixed with finds from Vintage Stores and markets. I also love the directional yet practical style of brands such as LF Markey, Rachel Comey.

Do you think Quattro Rish is the kind of shop you wanted to see your trainers in?

Absolutely, when we launched it was our aim to be stocked in fabulous Indie Boutiques such as Quattro Rish. Being curated amongst the other amazing brands is an honour and I hope that our sneakers bring a smile to customers as they browse the store!

What are your plans for future?

We are focused on increasing the range within our collections. We would also like to see our sneakers in stores internationally.

The Jean Scene

[vc_row][vc_column width=”1/1″][text_output]Whether you live in boyfriends or a pair of skinny jeans, we all have our favourite pair of jeans that we pull on when we have three minutes to run out the door, that we trust wholeheartedly for their form-flattering shape, comfort and the casual cool we exude wearing them.  This weekend’s Style Edit introduces spring’s new denim trends featuring our beautiful summer intern Vicky, and with no shortage of options in spring denim it could be time to treat yourself to another dose of denim…

All denim styles featured in this post have been styled with an American Vintage grey Jacksonville round neck tee, £49.[/text_output][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/2″][text_output]

If you add just one piece of denim to your wardrobe for spring, make it a pair of cropped jeans.  Cut above the ankle with a gentle kick flare, this casual jean looks great with tailored pieces like blazers and button-down shirts that balance out the look.  For shoes, pair them with sneakers, boots and when the weather get’s warmer, sandals.

The skinny jean remains a firm favourite with fashionistas with the skinny jean now a classic staple.  This season is all about the high waisted skinny and we are loving Dr Denim’s version in Solid Grey.  These jeans truly are super soft, fit like a second skin and are a great price.  With cute zip details at the ankle, style sneakers or ankle boots.

Combat pants are making a big comeback, a fabulous alternative to the blue hues of denim, these Twist and Tango Lexie trousers in a gorgeous khaki colour are huge this season and are so easy to style.  They have a slight stretch which makes for a universally flattering look, aided in part by the side pockets which gives an interesting twist.  For shoes, these trousers look fab with heels.

While traditional boyfriend jeans still have a place we’re feeling the more Euro flair of these slightly fitted, ankle-peg version from MiH.  The Tanny are a cute alternative to the boyfriend, are super soft and look very flattering on curves or boyish figures.  You can go a size down for the more skinny fit, or a size up for more of a boyfriend – making these jeans easy to wear for every occasion.  For shoes team with heels, sneakers or boots – looks fab styled with tailored pieces.

The Marrakesh flare from MiH are so much fun to wear and will mix up your denim status quo with a twist of 70s boho chic.  They are uber flattering with a fitted waist and big flared bottoms, creating an elegant silhouette.  They are quite long so we suggest wearing with heels for  maximum impact.
